October 1, 2021 marked Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary! Although I’m bummed I couldn’t be there on the 1st to take it all in, Disney is making this an 18-month celebration! That’s right – they are celebrating the 50th through April 2023 which means if you are looking to travel between now and then, you too will be able to enjoy all the magic that the 50th Anniversary Celebration has to offer.

There is so much NEW happening within the next year, and this is just a short summary of what we know so far.
Disney Fab 50 Character Collection
50 gold characters statues will be displayed across all 4 theme parks—waiting to be discovered by you! In Magic Kingdom, keep an eye out for Mickey & Minnie, Donald & Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip n’ Dale.
Beacons of Magic
The World’s Most Magical Celebration will light up with wonder as the theme park icons are transformed into Beacons of Magic—nightly at select parks.
- Magic Kingdom Park – Cinderella Castle illuminates the park with a dazzling glow that sparkles with pixie dust.
- EPCOT – Lights shine from within Spaceship Earth’s reflective panels.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios – The Hollywood Tower of Terror glitters and shimmers with EARidescence.
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom – The Tree of Life lights up with fireflies.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
NEW in EPCOT’s France in the World Showcase! Feel like you’ve shrunk down to Chef Remy’s size for a 4D culinary adventure based on the Disney and Pixar film Ratatouille. When you’re small, life is a big adventure!
In this 4D ride experience, join Chef Remy on a daring culinary caper that will captivate all your senses as you zip, dash and scurry through the bustling kitchen, dining room and walls of Gusteau’s famous Paris restaurant. C’est magnifique!
Any age can ride! There is no height requirement.
Virtual Queue Required
In order to experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guests are required to join the virtual queue. A standby queue is not available. The virtual queue is limited and subject to availability. Each Guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day.
Harmonious
This magnificent new show in EPCOT at the World Showcase Lagoon is one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for Disney Parks! It features floating giant screens, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics and lasers in a 360-degree view. The show includes 15 songs in 13 languages.
Disney Enchantment
As sad as we all are to see Happily Ever After come to an end, Disney always has something new up their sleeve. Behold a nighttime spectacular with Disney music, stunning fireworks and immersive projection effects extending from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.
Disney’s KiteTails
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is featuring a new performance!
Hearts and imaginations will soar as elaborate, 3D kites and incredible windcatchers dance through the air to the beat of beloved Disney songs during this high-flying performance at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Be awed by 2 unique, 10-minute shows:
- A show inspired by The Lion King, featuring kites of Simba, Zazu and more
- A show inspired by The Jungle Book, featuring kites of King Louie, Baloo and more
